Emma is a qualified Sports Rehabilitator and Massage Therapist who has worked in both England and Germany. She is lead therapist for Syston Rugby club and for the Great Britain Senior Women’s Ice Hockey Team and has worked with multiple elite sports teams since graduating. She specialises in musculoskeletal conditions, sporting injuries, rehabilitation and prevention.
“My interest in physiology started from an early age, I was intrigued by how the complex body worked, its adaptation to exercise and how it responded to injuries and stress. I was a keen ice hockey player and represented Great Britain for 4 years; it was at the age of 16, when a back injury lead me to research injury prevention and therapy. A few months of intensive rehab and treatment I was back to full fitness.”
“Educating the client in how their injury occurred is essential to managing and avoiding the reoccurrence of the injury. I believe a great number of injuries are caused through incorrect technique, whether it be a backhand shot in tennis or the positioning of a work station. My treatment approach aims to correct these techniques whilst treating the injury and encouraging the client to take an active part in their own rehabilitation.”
“I work with the principle that every injury is unique, so the treatment plan will be too.” Emma is fully qualified in injury rehabilitation, medical acupuncture, spinal and peripheral manipulations, dry cupping therapy & also provides sports/deep tissue massage.”
